TEP operates in partnership with Brandon Community Welcome and Westman Coalition for Employment Opportunities. Our goal is to re-introduce individuals recovering from a severe and persistant mental illness into the labour market.
Our program is participant driven. This allows the registered participant to determine his or her own progress. It is the participant’s decision whether or not to accept a job.
Provisions can be made for a replacement worker should t he regular employee fall ill or need some time away.
All jobs are paid at the minimum wage rate unless participants agree to a flat rate contract. Participants are covered by Workers Compensation.
One-time casual placements are found when an employer calls TEP and requests work to be done. Casual employment jobs are short term and labour intensive. Some examples of casual employment jobs are yard work, snow shoveling, cleaning, and moving.
Permanent placements are found by doing active job search for specific placements within the community. These placements are reoccurring for the specific individual who is placed. Individuals are expected to be somewhat independent, however, varing amount of support is provided dependant on different situations. Some examples of permanent / contract employment jobs are cleaning contracts, snow removal contracts, and restaurant employm ent.
There are no upcoming WCEO events.
